Top 5 Reasons to Drink Water to help you write

My favorite writing tool is Water.  Yes you heard me correctly.  I share this important tool with my Author Toolbox ™ students.  I state the top 5 reasons to drink water to help you write and be more productive during your writing days.  So grab your favorite writing tools and prepare a big pitcher of water so that you can just keep pouring yourself a Big glass of water throughout the day.

1- Your Body and Brain needs water. Our brains depend on water to function properly. Brain cells require water for your brain cells to be efficient. When you are dehydrated it  can impair short-term memory function and the recall of long-term memory. Do you ever feel fatigue and have a headache, it may be the sign of dehydration.  Do you ever have writers block?  It could be that you don’t have writers block you just haven’t given your brain what it needs to function properly.

  • Transports nutrients and oxygen into cells
  • Moisturizes the air in lungs
  • Helps with metabolism
  • Protects our vital organ
  • Helps our organs to absorb nutrients better
  • Regulates body temperature
  • Detoxifies
  • Protects and moisturizes our joints

  • Bone consists of 22% of water
  • Blood consists of 83% water

2- Helps you Wake up.  Throughout the night that you sleep  your body is loosing water.  So many folks head for the kitchen and grab caffeinated coffee.  However did you know that caffeine is a diuretics that causes your body to produce urine and doesn’t help you keep water in your body.  The caffeine may temporarily ‘wake’ you up, however caffeine is a diuretic and has a host of harmful things that it does to the body.  This beverage will not help hydrate you, in actually will do the opposite.   Studies have shown for every cup of coffee you drink you need to drink a big glass of water to offset it.If you really want to wake up in the morning and fuel your body throughout the day to stay awake, make sure to drink water.   Always have a glass of water with you as you sit at your desk.  How many hours do you sit in front of your computer without drinking?   Add a lemon or lime and a cucumber slice to your water for added benefits.  You can also add a drop of Therapeutic grade essential oil like lemon or lime and will provide even more benefits to your water.  One benefit if improving your concentration.  Just smelling the essential oil will allow your brain to focus and as writers we know how much we need to do that.

3- Water helps you control calories and help you loose weight.   Most people mistake hunger for the indication to eat more, whereas in actual fact, they may be dehydrated. So before you have your meal, grab a glass of water. Look up some of the beverages you consume and see how much sugar and fat is in them.  Studies have show that sugar and high-fat  has the same  effect on the brain that smoking, alcohol and cocaine does. Even though we associate significant health hazards in taking drugs like cocaine and morphine, high-fat and  high-sugar foods may present even more of a danger because they are in so many beverages and foods people consume and highly addictive.
Knowledge is a critical tool to help you make better choices so that you live a long healthy life and you live long enough to see your writing legacy help other people.

 4- Support your Immune System so you don’t get sick.  Drinking plenty of water helps fight against flu and other ailments like kidney stones and heart attack. Drinking water will improve your immune system.

5- Helps your mood so that  you can be a Happy and Healthy You.   Even mild dehydration can alter a person’s mood, energy level, anxiety, tension and ability to think clearly.  Your body and mind are now supported with the best writing tool, which makes you happy so I raise my  glass of water to your glass of water……  CHEERS and happy writing.

Quick list and directions of this dish:

Cut thin strips 2 sweet potatoes
Cut think strips 2 zucchini
8 flounder fillets
A bunch of cloves of garlic minced

Quickly sauté sweet potato, zucchini and garlic.

Then use it to add to center of flounder to roll up

Sprinkle coconut onto of fish then bake at 400 degrees for 20 min
